On Saturday, February 25th, you'll have the chance to dine on a delicious six-course dinner at the South Carolina Aquarium Sustainable Seafood Dinner--complete with yummy wine pairings.

The meal kicks off at 6 p.m. at Middleton Place Restaurant (4300 Ashley River Road); all its dishes are created by Executive Chef Micah Garrison.

Some of the cuisine you can look forward to include:

  • North Carolina catfish "stew" with fingerling potatoes, fennel, leeks, garden herbs, and tomato broth
  • Adluh cornmeal-fried oysters with organic Anson Mills grits, Split Creek Farm's goat cheese crumbles, and gremolata
  • Prince Edward Island Mussels with a coconut and saffron broth, country ham cracklins, and Normandy Farm's baguette
  • Hickory-smoked North Atlantic scallops with Middleton heirloom lima beans, Sea Island red peas, corn, and ham hock jus
  • Porcini-crusted Atlantic black sea bass with Carolina gold rice risotto, brussels sprouts, Mepkin Abbey mushrooms, and broth
  • Chocolate bread pudding with white and dark chocolates, Grand Marnier, and cherry reduction

Not only will the wine be flowing and the food be delectable, but you'll also get to soak up the soothing sounds of local musician Graham Whorley.

And throughout it all, you can learn about seafood sustainability and why it's so important.

The dinner is all-inclusive and costs $60. Purchase your tickets by heading over to www.middletonplace.org. And don't hesitate to buy--10% of the proceeds will go on to benefit the SC Aquarium's Sustainable Seafood Initiative.
