Mount Pleasant's new yesUmay Cookies hosting grand opening party this Saturday

A brand new Mount Pleasant bakery, yesUmay Cookies, is celebrating its first store with a grand opening party this Saturday, October 2nd.

Ashley Swider, owner and baker, plans to spread the cookie love throughout the Lowcountry this fall and holiday season with her tasty treats that will be available in two sizes and eight unique flavors.

Swider says of the opening, “I am elated to share my passion for life by pouring laughter and love into every bite of these cookies.”

Catering to the a la carte cookie indulgences of locals as well as large-scale events, such as weddings and corporate banquets, yesUmay Cookies aims to create the perfect sweet treat every time. Swider uses only the freshest and unique ingredients in her cookies to ensure quality and optimal taste. “As a self-proclaimed foodie, I love to indulge in the sweeter things in life, such as cookies. It all factors into my philosophy of well-being which also includes, yoga, traveling and the occasional jump castle.”

YesUmay Cookies will offer eight tantalizingly delicious cookies featuring traditional flavors such as Milk’s Companion, an updated chocolate chip; Sweet Satisfaction, a soft sugar cookie topped with buttercream frosting; and Universal Decadence, a triple chocolate chunk cookie sprinkled with sea salt. Swider also experiments with various ingredients to develop more unique flavors to round out the menu including: Abundant Bite with rich dark chocolate and goji berry topped with sea salt; Inspiration Indie made with curry, white chocolate and macadamia nuts; and the Optimistic Chew cookie with oatmeal, apple and butterscotch, to name a few.

The grand opening party will be held at the store, located in The Shops at Northcutt Plaza at 280 West Coleman Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant. Stop in, say hello, and watch the baking process on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
