In the usual Rare Beer Tuesday fashion, from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening the Charleston Beer Exchange will be tapping an extra special brew. They've even got a special guest on tap.

CBX will be hosting Grant Smith of New Belgium Brewing for an evening of fun and free tastings including the launch of the brewery's latest creation - Shift Pale Lager. This unique beer comes in 16oz cans only and is the perfect reward "for a job well done!" A tribute to the end-of-shift beer the brewery employees drink and to those working a good hard day everywhere. CBX notes, "This beautifully hoppy lager has distinctive notes from Nelson Sauvin hops and sits at 5.6% ABV."

In other New Belgium news: CBX is now carrying Fat Tire in 16oz cans and Ranger IPA in 12oz cans.

In addition to all of the above can-tacular awesomeness, they're putting a very limited beer from the New Belgium "Lips of Faith" line on the growler station. Jared's Ale is an 8% ABV smoked porter brewed with peaches. Only available on draft in select markets, this exceptionally unique beer promises to be quite the drinking experience. To make matters even more exciting, you can taste the Jared's Ale for free tonight too!

So, basically, it's on.
