Find it on two wheels, if you're female. Holy City Bike Co-op (aka Charleston Bike Coop) is holding the "Lady of the Alleycat" bicycle scavenger hunt for females on Saturday, September 13.
Here's the event details from their Web site:
The Lady of the Alleycat is a women-only bicycle "scavenger hunt" through downtown Charleston. There will be 5 checkpoints dispersed throughout the peninsula. Each contestant will get their "manifest" (race map and checkpoint tally) signed after the successful completion of each checkpoint. There are no set routes and contestants must obey all traffic laws. End location will be announced at the start of the race.
Who: All bicycle-riding women of Charleston and beyond
What: Lady of the Alleycat urban bicycle race
How much: $5 (all money goes to support the work of the Holy City Bike Co-op)
Prizes: Top prize is a bike! 2nd and 3rd prizes awarded as well.
Start at Colonial Lake in Downtown Charleston. Register at 3 p.m., start at 4.
