Jobs, roads, crime: Mayor Riley's annual State of the City Address

Update January 23: Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. praised the city's efforts in job creation, crime fighting, and attention to infrastructure.

To kick his speech off Riley said, "Tonight I am pleased to report to you on the state of our city -- a city that because of you becomes safer, more beautiful, livable and economically stronger every year."

First reporting, January 22: Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. will address the growing economy of the city of Charleston, progress in infrastructure projects including 5-26 , and accomplishments of the past year in his annual State of the City address tonight.

The State of the City Address will be at 7:30 p.m. this evening at City Hall, Council Chamber, located at 80 Broad Street.
