The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run - Myrtle Beach set for 9/11

Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers 5k Run is a national event. Myrtle Beach is proud to be one of many cities throughout the United States participating in this event.

This event was started by the Tunnel To Towers Foundation which makes its mission is to honor the legacy of love given to us by Stephen Siller, FDNY, who laid down his life on 9/11, by “doing good” in his name. The mission is to follow Stephen’s footsteps through support of children who have lost a parent, firefighters, and military who have been seriously injured and sacrifice their quality of life in the line of duty.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has partnered with USA Cares, who provides financial and advocacy assistance to post 9/11 active duty US military service personnel, veterans and their families. They assist all branches of service, all ranks and components and treat all with privacy and dignity in appreciation for their service and sacrifice. They never charge fees nor accept repayment and rely on donations from private citizens, businesses and foundations for all funding.

The event will precede the Myrtle Beach Fire Departments, Myrtle Beach 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb which will take place at the Yachtsman. Opening ceremonies will include a flag raising ceremony and a moment of silence at 8:46am, followed by the playing of the National Anthem and the Stair climb at 9:03am. These times are significant, marking the bombing of the first WTC Tower, and then second WTC Tower.

We ask that you plan on attending, and participate in some capacity. Whether you run, walk, cheer, or volunteer, this will be a memorable event where we can all honor those lost, and those who continue to protect us.

If you would like to volunteer you can email Hope Epton at TeamEpton@yahoo.com - We look forward to seeing you there!
