As requested by the Harleston Village Neighborhood Association, the Complete Street Sweeping Pilot Program will begin Thursday, August 4, and Friday, August 5th, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Complete street sweeping using alternate sides of the street for restricted parking will allow street sweepers to clean the curb edges, where the majority of dirt, debris and litter accumulate. This 6-month pilot program is intended to give Harleston Village cleaner streets and improved drainage. The City will work with the neighborhood to evaluate the program at the end of the 6-month pilot to decide whether or not to continue it permanently.

Streets included in the program area include curbed streets west of Rutledge Avenue between Calhoun, Broad Street and Lockwood Boulevard. Signs are in place on the streets which indicate the restricted parking areas.

Monthly Schedule for restricted parking:

  • North and East sides of streets: 1st Thursday 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
  • South and West sides of streets: 1st Friday 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Parking enforcement officers will be issuing citations if a vehicle is parked in a restricted street sweeping zone during the restricted hours.
