Have you ever watched TLC's show Extreme Couponing?  Bargain-hunters ring up grocery bills of $34,642 and, with the use of copious amounts of coupons, pay only $0.41 - or something like that.  Now you can learn from the professionals how to get serious about couponing and shave tremendous amounts of moola off your shopping bills.

Okay, so maybe Shallotte, NC (located in southern Brunswick County, between Myrtle Beach and Wilmington) isn't hyperlocal, but this event is pretty unique, so it's worth the coverage  The folks at the Columbia-based website, SouthernSavers.com, are holding a workshop on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Shallotte from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.   Covered are topics like gathering and organizing coupons, finding online deals, and effectively using coupons.  You can find more information on the event and get tickets here.  The cost is $10 per person.  There are a few additional dates for this class in South Carolina, including stops in Greenwood and Columbia.  You an find information about them here.
