The Grand Theatre Debuts Aloha Y'all In Surfside Beach

The Grand Theatre, taking residence in the former home of The Carolina Opry and Legends in Concert in Surfside Beach, has announced that its opening show, Aloha Y'all, will debut on its stage June 15, 2012.

Aloha Y'all is an authentic Polynesian luau-style production, created by Chief Palota of Maui and native South Carolinian Jason Wright. The show is emceed by Chief Palota and features authentic music and dance from the Polynesian cultures of Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, New Zealand, and Tonga.

Chief Palota and Wright, a native of Hartsville, South Carolina, together own a luau on the island of Maui, Hawaii called the Polynesian Village Luau. Chief Palota says, "Ever since we started our luau on Maui, Jason has been telling me about Myrtle Beach, and how we should bring our production there. Now it's finally happening and our family is very excited to come and share our ‘aloha’ with you guys."

283 Wright adds, "It's been a dream of mine to bring my Hawaii friends to the Myrtle Beach area. I think its a great fit. My father was born and raised on Maui and my entertainers are all from all over Polynesia so you can count on the show being authentic. Actually, right now I'm listening to the team practicing and it’s bringing me back to Hawaii already. Our show is a great way for people to escape to a Polynesian Island for a few hours!"
