Update August 4: The Double Dare 5K has been officially added to the Summer Fun Trail 5K Series and will take place on August 17th.

The train run begins at 6:30 p.m. Each runner's name will be paired (randomly, of course) with another runner participating in the race. The partners' times will be combined to figure out their final race time, and the couple that ends up with the lowest final race time will win!

You can register for the Double Dare 5K online at www.ccprc.com through August 16th. Residents of Charleston County pay $16 to participant; all others pay $20. Registration on rade day costs $20 for everyone.

To get more info, head over to The Post and Courier's report here.

First reporting: On July 13th, you'll have a new 5K run to enjoy in the Lowcountry over at Charleston County Parks.

The Summer Fun Trail 5K Series, hosted by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission and the Charleston Bicycle Company, begins on Wednesday, July 13th at Wannamaker County Park.

On Wednesday evening, The Chance Run starts at 6:30 p.m., a 5K that adds a little twist and turn to the traditional race with a split in the course that will force participants to choose a route. Choose the wrong route? You'll have a longer way to run.

Online registration is open now through the day before each Summer Fun Trail 5K Series event. Fees are $20 and $16 for Charleston County residents. To register, visit www.ccprc.com or call (843) 795-4386 for more information.
