Couple hears call of God in work to aid Chicora-Cherokee area

One doesn't usually hear about the North Charleston neighborhood of Chicora-Cherokee for good reasons.

Decades ago it was once a vibrant area, but now it seems you're more likely to hear about the old area on Charleston's neck for ongoing pollution or social woes.

But Rev. Bill Stanfield and his wife Evelyn Oliveira saw an opportunity to solve much of the latter set of issues through faith, education, and opportunity.

Out of that a company, Metanoia, was born.
