#MYR Start-ups: Cowork MYR is open for new members

I could pretend that TheDigitel Myrtle Beach and Cowork MYR aren't related to each other and we're just here to cover another story. But the truth is TheDigitel Myrtle Beach and Cowork MYR share many things together.

For starters, they share the same corporate parent. Cubic Phase Inc. was a company I helped start almost two years ago with the intention of launching TheDigitel Myrtle Beach. Not only was TheDigitel in dire need of an office, but all of the partners already involved were also excited about Cowork MYR and it just didn't make sense to spin up a whole separate entity. Most importantly, both things share the same spirit of bringing something new to the area that gives people hope there's more culture and opportunity in this town that exists outside of tourism.

Don't get me wrong: tourism is our golden goose and there's no reason to believe it won't be for many years to come. I firmly believe that, as more people and corporations consider relocation to our area, we as a community have to make an effort to expand our offerings and reassure those prospects there's more to us than just hotels and tourists. We've quickly discovered that many of you agree.

We've certainly enjoyed and appreciated the media coverage over the last few weeks. WBTW was the first to visit with us. WPDE stopped by on a day when we had two out-of-state visiting entrepreneurs. Just this weekend, The Sun News had us on the cover of their business section with an online slideshow of photos and we've received a lot of great feedback from that.

We are still adding finishing touches to the space and constantly hosting new events. If you'd like to keep up with us, you can subscribe to our email list (right-hand sidebar) and like us on Facebook. Please share us with your friends, family, and neighbors. If you already know you want to support our effort, you can sign up for a membership online. Monthly memberships start at just $25.

I'm so passionate and excited, it's tempting to ramble on about the vision for Cowork MYR and how it's so much more than just a shared office space. I'll spare you (this time) and simply ask that you come see it for yourself.
