There's only one tea plantation in America, and it's on Wadmalaw Island.

So I was glad to see a nice profile of the Charleston Tea Plantation over at The Post and Courier. The article does a good job of giving a feel for the history of the land, why they're doing it, and the business hurdles of growing tea for a living.
The timing of the article is excellent as the annual First Flush Festival is just around the corner on Saturday, May 16.
