Poogan's Porch Executive Chef Doyle becomes partner

Five years after Executive Chef Daniel Doyle joined Poogan’s Porch, he is creating his legacy with the oldest restaurant in Charleston as its newest partner.

"Daniel Doyle's talent, work ethic and loyalty made this an easy decision for us, the Ball family,” said Brad Ball, Managing Partner. “Exceeding our expectations in every capacity, he has become an integral part of this operation. The future of this company is with Daniel Doyle and we are very excited about making him a partner."

Doyle has transitioned Poogan’s Lowcountry cuisine from the stereotypical to modern with his innovative twist on dishes. Doyle uses fresh, local ingredients and Southern staples differently than patrons have experienced before, keeping guests excited about Poogan’s menu.

He has led Poogan’s into its most successful years and was integral for the restaurant’s invitation to cook at the prestigious James Beard House.

“After five years of hard work, I’m really excited about the opportunity of becoming Partner,” said Daniel Doyle, Executive Chef of Poogan’s Porch. “As Partner, I hope to broaden my career capabilities and shape Poogan’s in the future.”

As an institution opened in 1976, Doyle and the Ball family continue to work together to keep Poogan’s relevant in Charleston’s culinary scene.
