Gourmet and Grapes is an unparalleled event that couples local and regional culinary talent with award-winning wineries. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness that will support cancer research and patient programs at the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Friday, February 6

An Epicurean Affair- $250

The Ocean Room, The Sanctuary- 6:30pm

Savor this elegant black-tie dining experience in The Sanctuary’s signature dining room, The Ocean Room. The evening will reunite four, five-star culinary talents of The Woodlands Inn- Chefs Scott Crawford, Ken Vedrinski, Tarver King and Nate Whiting.  This epicurean affair will feature the French burgundy wines of Louis Latour.

 

Saturday, February 7

Gourmet Culinary Luncheon- $150

The Ocean Room, The Sanctuary- 12pm

Start the afternoon learning tips from a dining expert with The Post and Courier’s Food Writer and Critic Hanna Raskin. Then join Executive Chef Tyler Brown of The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, TN, in the picturesque Ocean Room restaurant. Showcasing the skill for which he’s become widely acclaimed, Chef Brown will demonstrate and serve an exquisite multi-course luncheon. The menu will be perfectly paired with exceptional wine varietals from the Sainsbury portfolio, to be poured at each course.

 

Build Your Own Afternoon- $50 (if not attending lunch)

The Sanctuary- 2pm

After lunch, create your own agenda by attending your choice of featured wine seminars. First, Lyeth Estate presents The Perfect Blend seminar led by Lee Howard of Boisset Winery Collection. In this offering, guests will learn the art and science that goes into making ‘the perfect blend’ by utilizing a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Or try an intriguing discussion of how the AVA of Paso Robles has become such an incredible wine producing area in California. Join Georges Daou as he shares, sips and savors the wines he and his brother created. Both of these seminars are designed to excite your palate and enhance your grapes knowledge for your next dinner party.

 

Wine Odyssey Gala presented by Kiawah Wines- $200

The Terrace Ballroom, The Sanctuary- 6:30pm

The evening begins with a cocktail hour, a silent but lively auction and a few new activities that promise to add even more fun. Then savor the flavors of the Southeast. Meet the chefs and taste their unique creations while sipping on distinctive wines from around the world at this main event and auction gala. Dance the night away with The Local Palate, Gourmet & Grapes’ official Champagne and Chocolates Afterglow sponsor, and hear the announcement of selected chef for the 2015 Golden Fork Award.

 

Sunday, February 8

Farewell Brunch- $75

Jasmine Porch, The Sanctuary- Brunch reservations available from 11:45am to 2pm

Celebrate the weekend and salute the chefs at this seaside brunch featuring the chefs of Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The walls of authentic Charleston brick, oak-plank floors, and the backdrop of the spectacular Atlantic Ocean create the ideal setting for this celebratory gathering. Guests will have the choice to dine as a large group or at a private table.

 

Gourmet, Grapes & Golf- $200/player

The Ocean Course, Kiawah Island- 11am

After a full weekend of wining and dining, step out onto America’s favorite golf course for the first annual Gourmet & Grapes Golf Outing. Players can register as singles or by teams. During the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to up the ante by bidding on one of our weekend celebrity chefs to complete your foursome.
