Rounding up the cultural ongoings of any town is no small task, but between the efforts of the Charleston City Paper and The Post and Courier you can get a pretty good pulse of what's happening.

The Post and Courier's round-up comes nearly two weeks after the Charleston City Paper's effort, which was lambasted for largely overlooking some of Charleston's bigger employers of artists and focused more on the smaller art happenings in town.

And while the City Paper has since made some amends in their online version, The Post and Courier took up the call and has a lengthy piece on, you guessed it, the Gibbes, The Charleston Ballet Theatre, Pure Theatre, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, amongst other big names.

But you won't find The Post and Courier mentioning what's going on with the smaller, independent names in town.

So, since we can all learn so much from each other, head over to the Charleston City Paper for tidbits on names in town that aren't advertised as much, and head over to The Post and Courier for what's going on with the big boys.
