the American College of the Building Arts sold the historic McLeod Plantation back to the Historic Charleston Foundation, the College of Charleston has reached an agreement to buy the three-centuries-old plantation on James Island for $4 million.

The College of Charleston has added a video of scenery from the plantation. It's a nice watch if you've never seen the plantation before.

College leaders invited representatives from African-American history and heritage groups to the college Tuesday to listen to their thoughts and concerns about the future of McLeod Plantation.

The Plantation has deep historical significance to the Gullah Geechee people that needs to be protected as well as a wealth of sweetgrass plants that sweetgrass basket makers would like access to.
