MYR airport to get imaging security scanners

The airport security theater is now a part of the normal travel experience. Fortunately, the TSA has made a significant investment in high technology scanners to make the process of air travel slightly less inconvenient and the new Myrtle Beach International Airport will be one of the first the get them.

As opposed to Backscatter X-ray machines, the Millimeter wave machines do not produce harmful radiation. The biggest complaint about them is how shockingly accurate they can image a human body in 3D. The TSA uses software to anonymize the image and protect privacy. But if that isn't reassuring enought, you are always given the option of a good old fashioned pat down from a friendly TSA agent. SCNow.com has a press release and everything else you could possibly want to know is probably on this TSA Advanced Imaging Technology website.
