First reporting: Sad news has come that the 5-year-old girl that was shot in the head, Allison Griffor, while sleeping in her home has passed away.

Life support was removed after brain scans showed no activity.

Despite the tragic news, police are still searching for information on the men involved.

NBC News 2 has a vide report about the harsh words that Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon had about "the 'scumbag' that shot through that door" (watch that report here). Meanwhile The Post and Courier has a duo of reports, one about the passing of Griffor and the latest on the search (read that here) and one from a memorial to honor the child's memory (read that here).

We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further developments in the search.
