Update January 22:
The police have arrested a suspect.
The Post and Courier has the name along with more details on the shooting; read about it here.
Live 5 News has a shorter report and some video.
Evening update:
Both of the stories linked to below have been updated throughout the day, and now include the name of the deputy.
First reporting:
A Charleston County Sheriff's Department deputy has been shot and sent to MUSC with critical injuries after responding to a James Island call.
A large police response has been executed following the incident and traffic is being diverted and nearby schools are on lockdown.
The Post and Courier seems to have the best reporting; though NBC News 2 seems to have more current info.
