After being indicted in conjunction with an auto theft ring last month, the Rev. Tory Fields has been hit with four more counts, The Post and Courier reports: two each of possession of a stolen vehicle and getting money under false pretenses.
You might remember the original story on Fields from just a couple of weeks ago, in which he was accused by authorities of being the ringleader of a fairly large-scale operation that spanned multiple states. These new charges are related to the same case; it's just that two more victims came forward. In total, police are saying the ring involved more than 40 cars and $1 million.
From The Post and Courier:
The latest affidavits accuse him of selling a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup stolen from a Charlotte Dodge dealership and a 2007 Dodge Magnum stolen from a Savannah Dodge dealership. In each case the stolen vehicle's origin was disguised with a title from a similar salvaged vehicle, according to affidavits.
As previously, Fields says he's innocent and is out on bail. But what I want to know is, did they ever find the 30-something blonde woman? Who was that mysterious figure? (It's probably not nearly as detective novel-esque as I imagine ... Too bad ...)
