A 16-year-old James Island girl was robbed around 6 a.m. when she arrived early for swim practice at the Charleston public pool downtown.

Three men approached the girl, Sarah Thibaudeau, while she waited in her car. One man tapped on the window with a gun, and the group then took a laptop, purse, and other possessions before being frightened off by an arriving team mate of Thibaudeau.

Both NBC News 2 and The Post and Courier have solid contributions to the reporting on this.

The incident happened Saturday, October 18.

Update October 23: A meeting was held Wednesday night about safety at the pool. Though it looks like no decisive action was decided on at the meeting.
