Update March 18, 2012: One thing I forgot to mention is how great the Warriors online presence has been since the new ownership has taken over.

The new website is well done and the Warriors Facebook page is lively. Thanks to a partnership with WRNN, you can listen to the games live.

First Report: Believe it or not, TheDigitel Myrtle Beach has been covering the South Carolina Warriors for almost a year.

Yep. We published a story in July last year when the Warriors were first announced and had scheduled their open tryouts. (If you don't July will be here in the blink of an eye, I've got bad news for you.) When we started our coverage, we never would have guessed there would be 3 major venue changes, some serious talent lost, and an entire ownership change while the newborn team maintained an undefeated record.

Yet here we are.

The Warriors won their opening game in the Mid-Atlantic Championship on Saturday with a 120 point total over the (Greensboro) Carolina Cheetahs' 91 points. The Sun News has more coverage of that game here. The next game is tonight at 6 p.m. in the Carolina Forest Recreation Center against the Lynchburg Legends where the winner will be given the Mid-Atlantic title and advance to the Eastern Conference playoffs.
