North Charleston's City Council is in the market for a fireboat to combat waterfront disasters.

According to The Post and Courier, "City Council on Thursday approved pursuing a nearly $800,000 Department of Homeland Security grant to purchase a 30-foot, fully equipped fireboat."

Interestingly enough, if the grant gains necessary approval, this would be the first fireboat in the Charleston area.
