A whale washed up on Isle of Palms Sunday morning.
Earlier this month a pygmy whale washed up on Folly Beach. In the region, other pygmy whales washed up in Florida and North Carolina.
No word on the cause.
Update 10 p.m.: NBC News 2 confirms that it was pygmy sperm whale, they also have one crazy photo of them moving the whale. Wow.
Update September 1: The Post and Courier has a story with more details, but there's still no word on why this, or so many others have been washing up lately. But it looks like this one was malnourished and heavily "parasitized."
