Update August 19: The Post and Courier writes that the fare increase was approved while plans to cut service to save money were put on hold pending further analysis.
First reporting July 20: Thanks to a drop in Charleston County funding, the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority is looking to reduce routes and services, and bump up fares 16%.
$1.50 fares will now run $1.75.
The Charleston Regional Business Journal has a good rundown on what's up; read it here.
