After taking much flak for blocking Obama's speech to the nation's students, Superintendent Joe Pye, leader of Summerville's Dorchester District 2, is now asking for $200,000 to upgrade the district's network capabilities.

Pye said a lacking computer network stopped them from airing Obama's speech.

If the school district needs to upgrade its technology, then do it. But that isn't stopping them from airing Obama's speech: It was broadcast on C-SPAN, and I hear most schools have them fancy new "VCRs" and DVD players.
