The idea is to replace the aging swing bridge built in 1939 with a new one some 110 feet upstream at cost of more than $30 million -- but the debate is the style: draw bridge, or tall fixed bridge?

If you'd like to have your opinion heard the S.C. Department of Transportation is holding  a public hearing on Tuesday, May 25, in Mount Pleasant from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, Park West Complex at 1251 Park West Boulevard.
