A proposal and meeting for a new Wando River bridge
The idea is to replace the aging swing bridge built in 1939 with a new one some 110 feet upstream at cost of more than $30 million -- but the debate is the style: draw bridge, or tall fixed bridge?
Multiple media outlets have more details on the S.C. 41 bridge, but I'll suggest ABC News 4's report if you prefer your updates in video form, and The Post and Courier's report if you'd rather read.
If you'd like to have your opinion heard the S.C. Department of Transportation is holding a public hearing on Tuesday, May 25, in Mount Pleasant from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, Park West Complex at 1251 Park West Boulevard.
