Teachers iffy on school district's closure plan, too

A survey done by the Charleston Teacher Alliance shows that about half of respondents support the Charleston County School District's plan to save costs by reorganizing and closing some schools -- but some teachers vehemently appose the plans.

You can read these tea leaves a lot of ways, but to me it only reinforces the notion that the school district may have a solid plan but is failing horribly at communicating why it's the best choice out of a bunch of miserable options.

They need to save some $20 million next year.

And, if you missed it, the district's meeting on plans to close several area school went very, very poorly.
