Today marks the first day of a new era for the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority and for riders of the public transportation service.
CARTA recently announced that today, March 18, it would unveil its bus tracking system that show where buses are in real-time. More than 100 buses are already equipped with GPS units.
CARTA currently has more than 1,300 bus stops but only 80 of them currently boast a rain-shelter, accurate route maps, and rider instructions.
