With the issuance of a $10 million revenue bond, North Carolina-based manufacturer BauschLinnemann will combine its three locations in Myrtle Beach, Conway, and Greensboro, NC into a new headquarters near the airport.
According to this Sun News article, the company employees 21 in their Myrtle Beach and Conway locations. They are committing to add another 34 manufacturing jobs over the next two years.
From a press release titled, "BauschLinnemann to Relocate North American Headquarters in Horry County, SC and Create 55 Jobs" featured on MSN Money:
BauschLinnemann's relocation to Myrtle Beach will generate a $31 million annual economic impact to the area. It also brings the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation (MBREDC) total jobs announced to 315 for the year. In addition, the average hourly wage for the new positions will be significantly above the current community average.
It seems the word "created" used a little loosely here. Twenty-one of those jobs already exist in Horry County and others in that 55 total are a result of others losing their jobs in North Carolina. Also, it's unclear how long that $31 million in economic impact will take to be realized.
The company is slated to set-up shop in July of 2013, ceasing operations in all other locations by the end of 2013.
