With no incumbents running to retain their seats on the Charleston County School Board, the five fresh faced candidates battled it out for three open seats during a forum held on Wednesday evening.
The debate, which will be shown on Comcast C2 beginning Saturday and run through November 2nd, gave the candidates a chance to grade the current superintendent, debate tax increases and name who they planned to vote for and teacher evaluations.
Still in the running for the two East Cooper seats are candidates Craig Ascue, Elizabeth Moffly and Everett Wilcox; two candidates, Michael Miller and Mary Ann Taylor are vying for one seat in West Ashley.
As for the North Charleston seat, Cindy Bohn Coats will be the only name on the ballot.
For more background on each of the candidates, check out our earlier post from July, and for more on last night's forum, hop over to the write-up in The Post and Courier. Warren Pepper had a chance to briefly interview the candidates and The Post and Courier has posted that video as well.
