Dorchester School District 2 fails to eliminate non-academic clubs

Three different motions failed last night at the Dorchester School District 2's Board Meeting to force non-curriculum clubs from forming in district schools.

School Board member Barbara Crosby tried to claim that non-cirriculum clubs "distract" students and was concerned about signs made by Summerville High School's Gay Straight Alliance club. Crosby wanted all clubs cut.

Thankfully, none of the three motions passed and Dorchester's District 2's students won't be shorted on their high school experience.

While Count on 2 has a video report on last night's meeting which watch here, The Post and Courier has the most complete reporting available.
