Grand Strand area police and fire take to social media

Social media is changing the way communities interact on all levels. For now, "social media" usually means Facebook and Twitter.  

The Sun News has a story today about how local fire and police agencies are starting to use social media more and more. We couldn't be happier about it. Read the write-up here.

TheDigitel Myrtle Beach is very active on these services. It is a great way to determine what issues and stories are most important to our community. Just a couple months ago, we were able to use Twitter to cover the Carolina Forest wildfires as they were happening
