Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) announces the receipt of a $6.2 million grant from the Transportation Security Authority (TSA) for a baggage screening system for the terminal capacity enhancement project.

The in-line baggage handling system is a state-of-the-art process for screening checked bags for TSA and will be implemented in MYR’s new terminal facility. This system will further enhance MYR’s security process and ultimately result in more efficient bag screening. The project's total costs are estimated at $10.4 million. The MYR terminal expansion project is expected to be complete in January of 2013.
