Local woman starts pet fire rescue fund

Janet Fincannon has five cats, and wants the fire department to be able to care for them just as they would a human.

She recently started Oxygen Masks for Pets, possibly the most aptly named website ever. It's designed to raise money to supply local fire departments, and ultimately all fire departments, with at least one pet-sized oxygen mask per truck.  With personal donations, and some special help from Invisible Fence of Coastal Carolinas, she's well on her way.
