David Symonds is the General Manager of CreateSpace, an Amazon company focused on providing independent publishing opportunities to authors and publishers. David’s Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting prepared him for over ten years in strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions of industrial laundries. David then earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and transitioned into general management where he was the president and general manager of Williams Technologies in Summerville, S.C., an automotive supplier of remanufactured transmissions to major vehicle manufacturers.

In 2006, two years after selling Williams Technologies to Caterpillar, David joined CreateSpace to lead the company from its Charleston, SC office and provide publishing options without gatekeepers. Today, driven by admiration for his great uncle, a writer who received many memorable rejection letters, David continues to focus on authors to ensure CreateSpace provides the independent publishing opportunities they need.
