$7.4M: New price record set for peninsula home

The Post and Courier reports that The James Simmons House at 37 Meeting Street sold today for $7.375 million, beating the previous record of 21 King Street for $7.2 million.

Parts of the 5,000-square-foot home date to 1760.

The buyers are a New Jersey couple and the sellers are the Bakkers. -- Anthony Bakker founded Charleston-based Blackbaud Inc. and is also majority owner of the Charleston Battery soccer team.
