Select Health of South Carolina participates in Principal for a Day program

Principal for a Day is a special annual event held in December for business and civic executives. The event is a collaborative effort of the Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester Two and Four school districts together with The Education Foundation and the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. The goal of this event is to bring together the best talent from businesses and schools for mutual benefit.

Cindy Helling, executive director of Select Health of South Carolina, shadowed Dr. Wally Baird, principal at Knightsville Elementary School in Summerville, S.C. They spent the day visiting classrooms and meeting with school leaders.

Dr. Kirt Caton, medical director at Select Health of South Carolina, shadowed Jimmy Huskey, principal at Goose Creek High School in Goose Creek, S.C.. They also spent the day visiting classrooms and meeting with school leaders.

John McFadden, director of data and technical services at Select Health of South Carolina, shadowed Sherry Peterson, principal at Murray-LaSaine Elementary School on James Island in Charleston, S.C. They spent the day visiting classrooms, mentoring students, meeting with PTO members and other school leaders, as well as participating in a fire drill.
