Conroy accepts coaching offer from Tulane

Update April 7:

Ed Conroy has accepted the head coaching position at Tulane.

The news will be officially announced at a press conference this afternoon in New Orleans at Tulane, which had been seeking a replacement for Dave Dickerson.

Conroy has spent the last four years coaching at his alma mater, The Citadel, but is leaving for greener pastures, aka more money. It is rumored that Dickerson earned between $320,000 and $400,000 as head coach for Tulane.

Update April 6:

The Citadel's basketball coach, Ed Conroy, has turned down the offer of head coaching position at UNC Wilmington.

Conroy made no comment, however, about his decision on the standing offer from Tulane.

 


First reporting:

According to an unidentified source close to the situation, UNC Wilmington has offered The Citadel basketball coach Ed Conroy its head-coaching position.

There has been no word from either confirming or denying the offer from UNC Wilmington nor The Citadel. When asked about the situation, Conroy declined to comment.
