An impressive year for The Citadel's Andre Roberts

The Citadel’s standout wide receiver Andre Roberts has certainly earned himself some bragging rights this year.

Here’s what 2009 has brought Roberts:

He was named to The Sports Network All-America third team as a punt return specialist, while also receiving an invitation to the National Football League 2010 Scouting Combine. Roberts has also been invited to play in the 85th East-West Shrine Game on January 23rd at the Florida Citrus Bowl and was named to both The State and The Post and Courier’s All-Decade teams at wide receiver.

Roberts was also a finalist for the Walter Payton Award for the second consecutive season, while also earning Southern Conference first team honors at both wide receiver and return specialist. Lest we forget he finished first in the SoCon and sixth in the nation in punt return average.

Ok ok, I think you get it, Roberts’ career at The Citadel may be over, but this surely won’t be the last we hear of him.
