Nominations are now being accepted for this year’s induction class of the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame, which was founded in 2009 and is housed at Pine Lakes Country Club, the area’s original golf course. Pine Lakes was opened in 1927. The deadline for submitting nominations is Monday, July 2.

Nominations will be accepted under nine different categories: architect, golf professional, instructor, manager, owner, promoter, superintendent, writer (media), or volunteer. To submit a nomination, use the online form found at TheMyrtleBeachGolfHallOfFame.com.

The form asks for a description of the nominee’s contributions and how that person is affiliated with the Myrtle Beach area.  The completed form should be sent to Charlotte Hearn at National Golf Management (NGM) via email or by fax to (843) 282-8999.

The Hall of Fame Board will consider all nominations and determine a final slate for entry. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is planned for Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Pine Lakes Country Club. Pine Lakes is one of 22 Myrtle Beach area golf courses managed with National Golf Management.

There are currently 10 members in the Myrtle Beach Hall of Fame, with six being charter members of the 2009 class. They are Clay Brittain, Cecil Brandon, Carolyn Cudone, Jimmy D’Angelo, General James Hackler and Robert White. Other inductees are George Bryan (2010), Charles Byers (2011), Paul Himmelsbach (2011) and Gary Schaal (2010).
