Man representing self in murder case

Terrell McCoy has taken an unusual legal move for a murder trial, the 29 year old has ditched his lawyer and is representing himself.

The wager that he can do it better than a trained lawyer? Up to 30 years in jail.

The Post and Courier writes about the situation, in part:
It's a risky move: McCoy has no law degree. Most of what he knows about courtroom procedures and definitions comes from three years of sitting inside the county jail awaiting trial, or watching his first murder trial end in a hung jury last summer. If he fails, it could mean 30 years or life behind bars.

It's an interesting story, but hardly one of simple enjoyment: McCoy is accused of shooting Antwan Bryant, 23, four times after an argument.
