If you're planning on flying out of Charleston International Airport, you may see added delays and new procedures when going through security checkpoints after the foiled terrorist attempt on Christmas Day to destroy an inbound international flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.
FBI officials said the bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23 year-old Nigerian national and member of al Qaeda boarded Northwest Flight 253 in Amsterdam with a device attached to his body. Fortunately, when Abdulmutallab set off the device he only ended up setting a fire that gave him third degree burns.
Live 5 News has some details, and The New York Times has broader information on new procedures.
