Horry County drought status lowered to 'moderate'
Thanks to some heavy rainstorms in the past few months, the South Carolina State Climatology Office's Drought Response Committee felt it was appropriate to lower our status from 'severe' to 'moderate'.
Before this status change, Horry and Marion counties were the only 2 in the state with the higher 'severe' status. The committee also elevated the status of the upstate area which put the entire state on 'moderate' status. WPDE has more information from the news release. Read it here.
