Local Nonprofit Hosts Golf Tournament Fundraiser to Support Struggling Lowcountry Residents and Promote Self-Sufficiency

Charleston, SC --- Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach will host their 21st Annual Golf Tournament on October 2 at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek on John’s Island.  Donations from the fundraiser will help to provide educational programs, health services and direct emergency assistance to families on James, Johns and Wadmalaw Islands as well as downtown Charleston-area residents who are suffering from poverty, unemployment and illness. Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach provides educational opportunities and resource assistance that encourage self-sufficiency and the desire to work toward a better future.

“We are gearing up for another fun-filled golf tournament and as always, we are so grateful to our sponsors and volunteers that help make it possible,” says executive director, Jill Jackson-Ledford. “The money raised from this event will make a positive impact to those in need on the Sea Islands as well as downtown-area residents who may be going through challenging economic times. We are humbled to have the opportunity to lend a hand and help get them back on their feet.”
