Calabash bank robbery suspect taken into custody

A Georgetown man was taken into custody early Tuesday in connection with a bank robbery in Calabash, N.C., the day before, according to authorities.

Grover Marcell Springs, 37, of Deer Run Avenue in Georgetown, was arrested at a his home on one count of robbery in connection with a robbery about 5 p.m. Monday at the PNC Bank branch in Calabash, said Emily Flax, a Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

Springs is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending extradition to Brunswick County.
