Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre Brings Holiday Traditions to Familes

It’s the holiday season again and it is this time of the year when we look and rekindle traditions to get into that holiday spirit. Holiday traditions inspire and make the season a little brighter. It helps us to bond and reconnect with family and friends.

In cities around the United States, “The Nutcracker” has become a very popular holiday tradition, and the holidays are not complete without seeing “The Nutcracker” live. Our annual production features spectacular scenery with fabulous and colorful costumes, making this age-old tradition sparkle like new!” says Liza Mata, CYBT and CDC Artistic Director. “This eighth annual performance has become an eagerly anticipated holiday tradition in the area and offers a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit!”

Bringing excitement to this year’s performances is the tradition that was started last year of searching for local celebrities who will get up onstage and star as the popular “Mother Ginger character. Last year, Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre was privileged to have television personalities, WPDE Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski, WBTW Newscasters Bob Juback, and Libba Holland, as well as Lakewood Elementary School Principal, Mr. James La Pier, who all gamely donned and got into the character of the popular and lovable character of “Mother Ginger.

This year, we are excited and thrilled to announce the featured celebrities. Drum roll please!!!
