Horry County schools awarded Palmetto Gold and Silver
Several schools in Horry County were honored with the Palmetto Gold and Silver awards, including some for general performance and others for closing the achievement gap.
According to the South Carolina Department of Education site, " the Awards program is designed to recognize and reward schools for attaining high levels of absolute performance, for attaining high rates of growth, and for making substantial progress in closing the achievement gap between disaggregated groups.
