Georgetown authorities arrest four in connection with dog fighting and drugs

Agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, along with Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office agents, have arrested four people in connection with dog fighting and drug distribution.

Officers executed two search warrants on Jan. 28 after receiving complaints from citizens and getting information about dog fighting and heroin distribution in the area, said Carrie Cuthbertson, public information officer for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, in a press release.

Agents seized several different drugs in the search, including heroin, marijuana and a narcotic called Suboxone. Three dogs were also impounded during the search, and a television believed to have been stolen in a Georgetown County burglary and a four-wheeler believed to have been stolen from Williamsburg County were also recovered in the search, according to the release.
